02.13. Domforum / Köln
Starting with an almost sleepless night and horrible traffic because of heavy snow this one couldn't get any better. Unable to find to correct way to the venue we crossed the Dom square with our cars to get there. We were the last band of the running order and played ok. It was nice to see some (maybe) homeless guys retiering from the weather into the warmth of an open-doors-concert and found themselves dancing to the noise.
05.16. JKC / Kamen
With 5 Seconds to Nowhere who have sadly split up now. Nice venue, vegetarian food, no real stage and a few punk- and gothkids showing up. Though the bassguitar broke during the gig it was good.
05.23. Zeche Radbod / Hamm
The first and last band contest we played. We were opening the evening, the wrong lights were still on and we sucked. And the crowd realized it. But later on we had the chance to see some real good bands so it was a lesson learned.

05.28. Bunker Ulmenwall / Bielefeld
A part of the Sounds of the City - Festival in a great XXX venue. The stage was in the centre of the audience, surrounded by columns. We had a very good on-stage-sound and played well. After the gig while drowning in sweat the thought came up that this was the best gig we have played so far.
08.14. HOT Hagenbusch / Marl
A tunnel-like venue in the woods featuring the worst organisation. Actually nothing was prepared and the flyers we brought over weeks ago were still liing exactly where we left them. As we started more and more kids showed up. But outside where they could smoke and drink heavily. We left with hopes that the next day might be better.

08.15.OpenAir / Kamen
An open air - festival we were supposed to start. No monitoring, not enough (and proper) mics and what not. Plus a soundman who wasn't interested in his duty at all. Horrible sound which led to a kind of vocal-catasprophy because I simply couldn't hear my voice on stage but the audience was given it louder than anything else. And it wasn't that thrilling to watch out for a stage that seems to collapse every moment as well.
09.24. Hafenklang / Hamburg
It's hard not to love this venue and the wonderful people behind it. They managed to get the sound gone in a wink of an eye and served a delicious meal for us after the 5hour driving. Downstairs a punkband played and we started this comfortable gig with blending the dupstep tunes from the DJ (Dupstep Dept.) into a freestylesession before getting to the actual setlist.
We spend the night and the other day in Hamburg which was great as well.

11.20. Alte Post / Oelde
What should be our last gig in 2009 turned out to be an experience of it's own. Something like "from musicians - for musicians". Like an open rehearsal with a stunning lightshow somehow. Kids were outside drinking while Newphoria, ourselves and Rules of Engagement gave our... well, best. A few nice picrtures, a little money for gas plus a promised recording of the gig (that hasn't arrived yet) were what we took from this. |
